This is an introductory course that covers key concepts surrounding green coffee from growing the plant, through processing, shipping and storage to arrival at a roastery.
The session is ideally suited for people new to the coffee industry or those looking to gain an insight into the broad-subject matter of green coffee. It is also suited for these professions - Roasting Quality Manager, importer, Lab Manager, Buyer, Roaster, Barista Trainer or Roasted coffee distributers

Covering Green Coffee grading, coffee contracts and portfolio management for small roastery buyer.
sca intermediate green coffee
This course is best for those already working in the area with a firm knowledge of the basic skills and covers the Principles of Coffee Growing and Processing, an introduction to Green Coffee Grading and Coffee Contracts plus Green Coffee Portfolio Management for the Small Roastery Buyer and more.
The course is broken down into the following three areas: Principles of Coffee Growing and Processing, Introduction to Green Coffee Grading, Coffee Contracts and Green Coffee Portfolio Management for the Small Roastery Buyer.
The course provides you with the key information to enable you to sit your Intermediate Level Green Coffee qualification which consists of 4 short practical exams and a written exam (25 questions with a pass rate of 70% required). Successful students will be awarded 10 points towards the SCAE Coffee Diploma.
2 day course - 10am to 4pm each day (course can run over time).
£400 +VAT for the 2 day training
Certificates are an additional fee – £161 for non members and £90 for members .

Sustainability through the supply chain is a theme that runs through the whole module. Integration of green coffee knowledge with that in other CDS modules including sensory and roasting are also expected.
This course is designed to build on the knowledge gained in the Green Coffee Intermediate course and prepares the student for managerial job functions found in the green coffee profession. Prerequisites for this module of the CDS are: Sensory Intermediate; Green Coffee Intermediate.
The course provides you with the key information to enable you to sit your Green Coffee Professional certification that consists of several practical exams and an extensive written exam (35 questions with a pass rate of 80%)
